Today we made candles. We used wax, water, and string. Parents helped us dip the string into the hot wax then into the water. Then we let it sit and cool before going another round. We had to dip it in almost fifty times!
We had to dip it slowly so we wouldn't bump into each other. We thought we might burn ourselves, but no serious accidents happened. We also had to be careful so the wax wouldn't fall. It was very fun making our candles.
Incredible job making candles! It will be interesting for you to use your candles at home and turn out all the lights and realize that was the only source of light for these colonists. Makes you want to have LOTS of candles...What a busy week you all had but it looked like lots of fun with all the pictures.
